The University of Texas at Tyler seeks applicants for the Research Experience for Undergraduates program in mathematics. Students will work on original research problems in groups of three or four, led by an experienced faculty mentor. The research projects will be in integer partitions, inverse semigroups, and mathematical modeling. Each student will be provided housing, paid a stipend, and there will be some support for meals and travel. Please note that this program is pending funding from the NSF.
Applicants must be undergraduates pursuing a degree in mathematics. Prior experience in at least one proof-based course is required. The program is NSF-funded, and only available to US citizens and permanent residents.
