Caltech LIGO Summer Research

In the Caltech LIGO summer research program, students participate in research under the guidance of various professionals: faculty, postdocs, graduate students, scientific and engineering staff members, and expert visitors. The LIGO Laboratory, a Caltech-MIT project, aims to detect and study gravitational waves, the astrophysics of their sources, and their detection through high-precision metrology. The aim of the Caltech LIGO SURF program is to organize the participation of undergraduate students in research associated with the LIGO Laboratory. The program includes participations from several different research groups, including both the LIGO/Caltech astrophysics group and the Caltech Gravity Experiment group.
