The Summer in Biomedical Science (SIBS) Undergraduate Research Program will provide the opportunity for young people to be instructed in the techniques of modern biology while becoming integrated members of a vibrant clinical and scientific community. The objectives for the SIBS program are found below:

• To give college undergraduates a hands-on educational experiences in biomedical science.

• To promote awareness of the major basic and clinical research areas in the biomedical sciences.

• To give college undergraduates the opportunity to interact with basic science researchers and clinical scientists.

• To allow a student an insider's at the medical and graduate programs offered here at UAB.
