University of Arizona Summer Research Institute (SRI)

The Summer Research Institute (SRI) provides undergraduate students with an exceptional opportunity to acquire research skills, savor a fulfilling summer experience, and lay the groundwork for future graduate studies at The University of Arizona. As part of the application process, students are requested to indicate their specific areas of research interest.

The purpose of SRI is as follows:

  • It aims to provide participants with the opportunity to work alongside faculty members on research projects.
  • It seeks to foster a comprehensive understanding of the various approaches, issues, and research methodologies within participants' chosen fields.
  • It encourages participants to contemplate pursuing advanced studies in their chosen disciplines at the University of Arizona.
  • It prepares participants to compete effectively in the graduate application process and beyond.
  • It enhances participants' leadership skills through personal development workshops and interactions with peers.
